FUTR Impact Capital co-founders, Jason Inasi, CEO, and Kerry Mayorga, COO, joined forces after successful careers in the interactive media and tech industries and the sustainability and organic foods marketplace. Inasi, an entrepreneur, author, and impact investor in technology companies, founded the leading digital marketing agency in Miami, The Factory Interactive. Mayorga co-founded Mayorga Organics, a major coffee and sustainably farmed foods company.
Together, they created FUTR Impact Capital Inc., with a vision to form an ecosystem to empower change makers with digital tools, mentorship, resources, and funding to support ventures seeking to mitigate climate change and other environmental risks. FUTR’s first ecosystem benefactor is Ocean Recovery Group. The company is a model sustainability innovator that intercepts plastic waste bound for waterways and harnesses it to build affordable housing.
At the Aspen Ideas Climate 2023 meeting in Miami, FUTR introduced the FUTR PROOF Cities initiative. The initiative uses data and technology to rank cities according to their ability to protect their populations from future climate change risks. By assigning rankings for the level of resilience to environmental risks cities face, the initiative will help to raise awareness and motivate city leaders to embrace aggressive public-private actions to “future proof” their communities from environmental disruption and upheaval.
